Supporting the Shrine
The Welsh National Shrine of Our Lady of the Taper is self-funded within the registered charity of the Diocese of Menenvia, and relies on the generosity of the faithful to pay for its development, upkeep and running costs.
As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, organised pilgrimages have been cancelled and visitor numbers to the National Shrine have been massively reduced and at times completely stopped.
The support of the parishioners has been invaluable, as well as some kind people from outside the parish who have helped us financially. Diolch o galon – heartfelt thanks!
How you can help
We are immensely grateful for the generosity of all who have offered their prayers, donations, legacies, or supported us in other ways.
We have set up an online donation service, where people can make donations through the internet to help with not only the future development of the Shrine, but also the general running costs. Although we run on a very tight budget, we still have to do all we can to keep as many of our services of prayer and community help going no matter what the difficulties in our society presents.
There are plans to further develop the site to benefit pilgrims, parishioners and the local community, but these are on hold.
Any donation you can make will be put to good use, and used to bring benefit to the widest number of people possible.
To set up a standing order that enables regular giving through your bank, please complete the standing order mandate form below, and give it to your bank, and they will automatically transfer the amount you chose directly to the Parish account. You can chose how often you would like to give, which means you can support the Shrine and parish on a regular basis. Thank you so much for your generosity.
