The celebration of the Sacraments
The celebration of the Sacraments is at the heart of our Christian life. They punctuate our lives and strengthen us in our spiritual journey.
For information about weddings, baptisms, First Holy Communion and Confirmation, please contact the parish Priest, who will arrange to meet with you and help you in preparing for the celebration of the Sacraments.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation / Confession
Is celebrated each week as advertised on the Newsletter. However, should you wish to make an appointment at another time, please phone the Priest to arrange a time and he will be happy to help.
The Sacrament of the Sick
When a Catholic is unwell, it is appropriate to celebrate the Sacrament of the sick (the anointing with holy oil, and blessing of the sick). This is available to anyone who is significantly unwell, or going to receive a general aesthetic, or for those who have a prolonged illness or who have grown weak through the advancement of years. Please phone the Parish Priest to arrange the best time to celebrate this Sacrament with you.
Care of those approaching the end of life
When a Catholic is approaching the end of life, the same sacrament is given with a special blessing for those who are approaching the end of life (this may be known as the last rites). Please do not leave this call to the last minute, and be assured that the priest will do all he can to respond to you as soon as your call is received.
